This issue stems from the /etc/passwd file being created with group-writable permissions during build time. In certain conditions, an attacker who can execute commands within an affected container, even as a non-root user, can leverage their membership in the root group to modify the /etc/passwd file. This could allow the attacker to add a new user with any arbitrary UID, including UID 0, leading to full root privileges within the container.\n\n## Affected\n\n- `rhpam-businesscentral-monitoring-rhel8`\n- `rhpam-businesscentral-rhel8`\n- `rhpam-controller-rhel8`\n- `rhpam-dashbuilder-rhel8`\n- `rhpam-kieserver-rhel8`\n- `rhpam-process-migration-rhel8`\n\n## Remediation\n\nRefer to the linked advisories for vendor-supplied fixes and affected version ranges.","depth":"sunlit","depthScore":35,"depthScoreParts":{"impact":35.2,"likelihood":0,"exploitation":0,"ransomware":0},"changes":[]}
