With Cache Components enabled (cacheComponents: true), a 'use cache' function that calls another 'use cache' function that reads a root param can be keyed incorrectly when the inner call is served from an existing entry: the enclosing function's cache key then omits that root param. The enclosing entry is written once and reused for all root param values, so a response for one root param value can serve content produced for a different value — whether the page is prerendered at build time or at runtime, or rendered dynamically. Shared cache headers let downstream caches redistribute the content further.\n\nWhat values are leaked cannot be attacker controlled. Which value's content is served depends only on which invocation wrote the entry first.\n\nThis has been patched in 16.3.8.\n\n## Affected\n\n- `next.js >= 16.3.0, < 16.3.8`\n\n## Remediation\n\nUpgrade past the affected range:\n\n- `next.js 16.3.8`\n\n## Vendor advisories\n\n- **Red Hat VEX** · Low · affected: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9, Red Hat Enterprise Linux AI (RHEL AI) 3, Red Hat Trusted Artifact Signer · no fix planned: Red Hat Trusted Artifact Signer, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8, … · updated 2026-10-05 · [vex](https://security.access.redhat.com/data/csaf/v2/vex/2026/cve-2026-103004.json)\n\n## Package advisory (CVE-2026-103004)\n\nAffected packages:\n\n- `next >= 16.3.0, < 16.3.8`\n\nPatched in:\n\n- `next 16.3.8`\n\nSource: https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-h694-7cp9-m8p3","depth":"sunlit","depthScore":29,"depthScoreParts":{"impact":29.2,"likelihood":0.1,"exploitation":0,"ransomware":0},"changes":[{"seq":215857,"id":"CVE-2026-103004","ts":1791213925577,"field":"cvss","old":"6.3","new":"5.3"}]}
