A heap-buffer overflow vulnerability exists in the `tiff2pdf` utility due to an integer truncation error when processing crafted BigTIFF files. An attacker can provide a specially crafted BigTIFF file, causing a 64-bit `StripByteCounts` value to be truncated to a 32-bit integer. This leads to an undersized memory allocation and a subsequent out-of-bounds memory copy, resulting in a crash and severe memory corruption.\n\n## Remediation\n\nRefer to the linked advisories for vendor-supplied fixes and affected version ranges.\n\n## Vendor advisories\n\n- **RHSA-2026:53467** · Red Hat · fixed in: Red Hat Hardened Images · released 2026-08-11 · [advisory](https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:53467)\n- **Red Hat VEX** · Moderate · affected: Red Hat Ceph Storage 4, Red Hat Ceph Storage 6, Red Hat Ceph Storage 7, Red Hat Ceph Storage 8, Red Hat Ceph Storage 9, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10, … · updated 2026-09-28 · [vex](https://security.access.redhat.com/data/csaf/v2/vex/2026/cve-2026-18495.json)","depth":"sunlit","depthScore":34,"depthScoreParts":{"impact":33.6,"likelihood":0,"exploitation":0,"ransomware":0},"changes":[]}
