A later caller that requests RETURN_TRUSTED_TYPE output receives a TrustedHTML object created by the old (potentially unsafe) policy rather than a clean default, which can lead to script execution at a Trusted Types sink. Passing TRUSTED_TYPES_POLICY: null on the later call also does not clear the retained policy.\n\n## Affected\n\n- `dompurify >= 3.0.0, < 3.4.9`\n\n## Remediation\n\nUpgrade past the affected range:\n\n- `dompurify 3.4.9`\n\n## Vendor advisories\n\n- **RHSA-2026:58500** · Red Hat · fixed in: Red Hat Hardened Images · released 2026-08-22 · [advisory](https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:58500)\n- **RHSA-2026:58502** · Red Hat · fixed in: Red Hat Hardened Images · released 2026-08-22 · [advisory](https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2026:58502)\n- **Red Hat VEX** · Moderate · affected: Migration Toolkit for Virtualization, Multicluster Engine for Kubernetes, Node HealthCheck Operator, OpenShift Lightspeed, OpenShift Service Mesh 3, Red Hat 3scale API Management Platform 2, … · no fix planned: Migration Toolkit for Virtualization, Multicluster Engine for Kubernetes, Node HealthCheck Operator, OpenShift Lightspeed, … · updated 2026-10-15 · [vex](https://security.access.redhat.com/data/csaf/v2/vex/2026/cve-2026-65899.json)","depth":"sunlit","depthScore":34,"depthScoreParts":{"impact":33.6,"likelihood":0.1,"exploitation":0,"ransomware":0},"changes":[]}
