As a result, any real certificates with the same serial number are rejected as well. This can be abused to lock out legitimate peers from connecting. The add_decoded_cert() function missed a call to CERT_DestroyCertificate() due to an incorrect fix for CVE-2026-14957. Sending bogus certificates with new serial numbers could prevent the real certificates with those serial numbers from connecting until the service has restarted.\n\n## Remediation\n\nRefer to the linked advisories for vendor-supplied fixes and affected version ranges.\n\n## Vendor advisories\n\n- **Red Hat VEX** · Low · affected: Fast Datapath for RHEL 9, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10, Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4 · no fix planned: Fast Datapath for RHEL 9, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10, Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4 · updated 2026-10-13 · [vex](https://security.access.redhat.com/data/csaf/v2/vex/2026/cve-2026-77205.json)","depth":"sunlit","depthScore":20,"depthScoreParts":{"impact":20.4,"likelihood":0,"exploitation":0,"ransomware":0},"changes":[]}
