The adapter fails to verify that the issuer of a signed SAML assertion matches the expected identity provider configured for the application. If multiple identity providers share the same trusted signing key, an attacker who controls one of those providers can create a validly signed assertion to log into the application as any user, potentially gaining full administrative control.\n\n## Affected\n\n- `keycloak-core`\n- `keycloak-core (all versions)`\n- `keycloak/rhbk-openshift-rhel9 (all versions)`\n- `keycloak/rhbk-rhel9-operator (all versions)`\n- `rhbk/keycloak-rhel9 (all versions)`\n- `rhbk/keycloak-rhel9-operator (all versions)`\n- `keycloak-core`\n- `jboss-eap-7/eap74-els-openjdk11-openshift-rhel8`\n- `jboss-eap-7/eap74-els-openjdk17-openshift-rhel8`\n- `jboss-eap-7/eap74-els-openjdk8-openshift-rhel8`\n- `keycloak-core`\n- `keycloak-core`\n- `candlepin`\n- `keycloak-core`\n\n## Remediation\n\nRefer to the linked advisories for vendor-supplied fixes and affected version ranges.\n\n### Workarounds\n\nMitigation for this issue is either not available or the currently available options do not meet the Red Hat Product Security criteria comprising ease of use and deployment, applicability to widespread installation base, or stability.","depth":"twilight","depthScore":41,"depthScoreParts":{"impact":40.7,"likelihood":0,"exploitation":0,"ransomware":0},"changes":[]}
