As a result, io_uring advances more of the provided buffer ring\nthan was actually filled.  Use the actual filled region size to consume\nthe buffer, but still return the full size to preserve MSG_TRUNC\nsemantics.\n\nTake care with multishot, because that seems to already truncate the\nconsumption based on the available payload size.\n\nThis was reported in https://github.com/axboe/liburing/issues/1619.\n\n[axboe: fold in size_t unsigned fix]\n\n## Remediation\n\nRefer to the linked advisories for vendor-supplied fixes and affected version ranges.\n\n## Vendor advisories\n\n- **Red Hat VEX** · Moderate · affected: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9, Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4 · no fix planned: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9, Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4 · updated 2026-10-21 · [vex](https://security.access.redhat.com/data/csaf/v2/vex/2026/cve-2026-97618.json)","depth":"twilight","depthScore":39,"depthScoreParts":{"impact":38.5,"likelihood":0,"exploitation":0,"ransomware":0},"changes":[{"seq":213563,"id":"CVE-2026-97618","ts":1790754779051,"field":"cvss","old":null,"new":"7"},{"seq":213562,"id":"CVE-2026-97618","ts":1790754779051,"field":"severity","old":"none","new":"high"}]}
