This new function enables ring-buffer\nbuffer_data_read_page users to not call the racy\nring_buffer_subbuf_size_get(). This makes the spare_size member of\nftrace_buffer_info redundant.\n\nFinally, handle buffer_data_read_page/reader_page order discrepancy in\nring_buffer_read_page(). On a mismatch simply copy manually the data to\nthe buffer_data_read_page.\n\n## Remediation\n\nRefer to the linked advisories for vendor-supplied fixes and affected version ranges.\n\n## Vendor advisories\n\n- **Red Hat VEX** · Moderate · affected: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 · no fix planned: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 · updated 2026-10-23 · [vex](https://security.access.redhat.com/data/csaf/v2/vex/2026/cve-2026-98032.json)","depth":"twilight","depthScore":39,"depthScoreParts":{"impact":38.5,"likelihood":0,"exploitation":0,"ransomware":0},"changes":[{"seq":212452,"id":"CVE-2026-98032","ts":1790668182917,"field":"cvss","old":null,"new":"7"},{"seq":212451,"id":"CVE-2026-98032","ts":1790668182917,"field":"severity","old":"none","new":"high"}]}
