Those values are zero and one respectively,\nand are not pointers. A tp_btf program can currently dereference either\nvalue and fault the kernel. In particular, signal_generate can run from\ntimer interrupt context, turning the fault into a kernel panic.\n\nRecord both tracepoints in raw_tp_null_args[] and mark argument one as\na non-pointer. This preserves scalar access to the cookie while rejecting\ndirect and helper-mediated pointer use. Merely marking it nullable would\nnot suffice because SEND_SIG_PRIV is nonzero.\n\n## Affected\n\n- `linux_kernel >= 6.12.6, < 6.13`\n- `linux_kernel >= 6.13.1, < 6.18.53`\n- `linux_kernel >= 6.19, < 7.2.7`\n- `linux_kernel = 6.13`\n- `linux_kernel = 7.3`\n\n## Remediation\n\nUpgrade past the affected range:\n\n- `linux_kernel 7.2.7`\n\n## Vendor advisories\n\n- **Red Hat VEX** · Low · affected: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9, Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4 · no fix planned: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9, Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4 · updated 2026-10-17 · [vex](https://security.access.redhat.com/data/csaf/v2/vex/2026/cve-2026-98062.json)","depth":"sunlit","depthScore":30,"depthScoreParts":{"impact":30.3,"likelihood":0,"exploitation":0,"ransomware":0},"changes":[{"seq":212374,"id":"CVE-2026-98062","ts":1790668159953,"field":"cvss","old":null,"new":"5.5"},{"seq":212373,"id":"CVE-2026-98062","ts":1790668159953,"field":"severity","old":"none","new":"medium"}]}
