On architectures such as ARM64 a regular memset() may\nemit unaligned or block-zeroing instructions (e.g. DC ZVA) that are\ninvalid on Device memory, leading to a synchronous external abort.\n\nUse memset_io() to clear the slot for QLAFX00, matching the I/O\naccessors used elsewhere on this ring. Other adapters keep the plain\nmemset() on their DMA-coherent rings. The zero-fill is retained for FX00\nbecause its IOCB builders (e.g. qlafx00_fxdisc_iocb()) copy only part of\nthe entry and rely on the unused tail being pre-zeroed.\n\n## Remediation\n\nRefer to the linked advisories for vendor-supplied fixes and affected version ranges.\n\n## Vendor advisories\n\n- **Red Hat VEX** · Low · affected: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9, Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4 · no fix planned: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8, … · updated 2026-10-18 · [vex](https://security.access.redhat.com/data/csaf/v2/vex/2026/cve-2026-98386.json)","depth":"sunlit","depthScore":30,"depthScoreParts":{"impact":30.3,"likelihood":0,"exploitation":0,"ransomware":0},"changes":[{"seq":224127,"id":"CVE-2026-98386","ts":1792324932085,"field":"cvss","old":null,"new":"5.5"},{"seq":224126,"id":"CVE-2026-98386","ts":1792324932085,"field":"severity","old":"none","new":"medium"}]}
