A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's ST21NFCA Near Field Communication (NFC) driver. This vulnerability allows a Denial of Service (DoS) when the system encounters malformed wireless NFC responses. A nearby attacker with a crafted NFC device can transmit a truncated ISO 15693 inventory response, which the driver processes without verifying minimum length requirements. This causes an out-of-bounds memory read, leading to a kernel crash.
kernel: nfc: st21nfca: validate ISO15693 inventory length — rated Moderate by Red Hat. Released 2026-10-18, updated 2026-10-20.
