A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's MediaTek DRM (Direct Rendering Manager) driver. When binding non-master display devices, the driver fails to release a device reference acquired during initialization. A local user could exploit this condition during device initialization or reconfiguration, causing a resource leak that may lead to a Denial of Service (DoS) through resource exhaustion.
kernel: drm/mediatek: Fix pdev reference leak in mtk_drm_bind() — rated Low by Red Hat. Released 2026-10-18, updated 2026-10-23.
